Welcome to Preston

Brought to you by the Preston Community Club

Preston, Washington is a small rural community nestled along the Raging River between Issaquah and Snoqualmie. Surrounded by the foothill forests of the Cascade Mountains, Preston was originally built as a timber mill community in the late 1800’s.

Today, the logging mill is long closed but Preston retains the vestiges of its mill town history.   The forested hillsides around Preston, once owned by logging companies, largely remain forested, now as public lands such as Tiger Mountain State Forest and the Preston Ridge Forest.   The historic community retains its small town feel with preserved historic sites such as many original mill homes, the community center, church and Preston Mill Park.

Today, this forested setting offers a quiet lifestyle, scenic beauty, and easy access to outdoor recreation.   Yet it is also easily accessible to urban amenities, located right on I-90, only minutes from Issaquah, Snoqualmie, and Seattle.   Preston’s history as a close-knit community continues today, with neighbors who feel both familiar and connected.
